A Peculiar Dilemma: How the Bible & the Constitution Thwart Racial Healing

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Racism in the U.S. has its own sordid history, but that history is exacerbated by the fact that two documents revered by many Christians—the Bible and the Constitution—have placed the value of white supremacy into our very life blood. We seldom give credence to the powerful influence of these texts on our psyches. This session will focus on how these two sacred documents have held us captive to an ideology that ultimately says it is God who ordains and sanctions racism. This session will also encourage dialogue on how we get past the words and directives of the documents we hold so dear.
