The mainstream understanding of feminism in the U.S. has often focused on the needs of white women, including the “right to choose.” But for the majority of women around the world, the biggest feminist/womanist question centers around the “right to survive.” How do women worldwide survive poverty, war, and sexual and gender-based violence? How can people of faith in the U.S. engage in global issues that impact women seemingly a world away? Come explore these questions as we discuss how to use faith as a framework for achieving a broader, more inclusive, and global understanding of feminism and womanism.
