Matthew Scott is Director of Peacebuilding for World Vision International. He has a deep personal passion for ending poverty and violent conflict, with 20 years working in the non-profit sector, ranging from disability issues, landmines, child rights, humanitarian affairs, religious freedom, and peace and security. His work affords the opportunity to present to the UN Security Council, the World Bank, the European Union, and other policy-making instutions.

A Canadian citizen, he has lived in Latin America, North America, Europe, South Asia, and East Asia. He has carried out assignments in over 50 countries, especially focusing on fragile states. He holds a Master of Arts in Religion from Yale Divinity School and an undergraduate degree in Philosohpy and Spanish from Queens University. He is married to the Reverend Sandra Seaborn, an Episcopal priest, and father to two pre-teenagers. When not pursuing international peace, he enjoys making a joyful noise on the guitar or drums, competing in short-course triathlons, tinkering with technology, and pursuing the mistaken belief that the Toronto Maple Leafs will win something.
